I know I shouldn't complain....

(and you know whenever someone starts out a sentence that way you're about to hear some complaining)

....and it's a good problem to have....
...but it is really annoying to have almost no clothes that fit or look good because they are too big.

All my long sleeve tees are now pretty loose around the middle and make me look frumpy. Most of my jeans are too big in the seat and too loose in the thighs.

Honestly...if I could find some jeans that would be low cut but not so low cut that they would show my wrinkly belly button too much, and would hold their shape without looking like a diaper on my butt after a few hours, and be the perfect lenght for my chacos AND my danskos AND my keens AND my docs mary janes...I would pay a small fortune. Really.

I bought these J. Jill cropped jeans a couple weeks ago that I'm wearing right now...I love J. Jill normally...but these are a size 8, a little to big and maybe a little bit too matronly.

I know that yoga has changed my body....I'm definitely leaner, much slimmer through the middle and for the first time in years I have a butt....but also my perception of myself has changed...I don't feel like I need to hide myself in baggy clothes anymore. I had sort of an epiphany yesterday....I was bending over doing something and looked down and saw that bending over created a "roll" on my stomach...and for the first time ever I didn't feel compelled to suck it in because I felt, hey, I am where I am right now and I'm doing my best for my body, and I'm happy with my body for maybe the first time ever in my life. Well, with the exception of the area immediately around my belly button, which has improved with yoga but will never bounce back to the way it was pre-babies.

Yesterday there was a new teacher at DHY...some guy who is Bikram certified but teaches hot yoga and is between studios right now....he was okay, but very hands-on and VERY talky. Some of the dialogue he blew through so quickly that I was cracking up. Before each sit up in the series his dialogue sounded like this, as he got faster and faster: "Toes and heels together, flex your feet squeeze your seatkeepyourheelsonthefloorarmsoveryourheadcrossyourthumbsarmsandhead togetherquicklysitupgrabyourbigtoesdoubleexhaleforeheadtotheknees!!" And with each sit up it got faster and faster. Despite that he ran ten minutes over.

Well, we're off to the fall carnival at Will's school in a bit, when the boys get back from haircuts. It's a beautiful day.
